The main idea of the PROTEAS project is to bring the General Public closer to the work of the conservator and the researcher of works of art and through this, to the materials and techniques, to the historical context of a work of art as well as to the message and expression of the creator. Important to the implementation of this idea is to create an open channel of communication between curators, conservators and researchers. Modern technology supports this communication through

a) portable analytical devices

b) flexible robotic devices

c) advanced information systems that allow an integrated and innovative approach to the documentation, management and presentation of information collected during the conservation of works of art.
